Enjoy Canaston Woods bridleways  in an area of beautiful mixed woodland, you can hack through beautiful Pembrokeshire lowland landscape and Canaston Wood to Blackpool Mill, on the banks of the Cleddau River, and then back to Narberth.

Understanding the Trail Markers

The National Park Authority uses a colour-coded waymarker system to help you navigate confidently and stay on the right track:

• Yellow: Footpaths – for walkers only
• Blue: Bridleways – open to walkers, cyclists, and horse riders
• Red: Byways – accessible to all traffic, commonly used by walkers and riders

Look out for these markers along the trails and enjoy peace of mind while exploring.

In Pembrokeshire we have some amazing beaches that are horsey friendly, ever dremt of cantering alng the golden sand whilst the waves are lapping et your horses hoves? well now you can when staying with us on your horsey holiday. Here are a few beaches available Amroth, Manorbier, Freshwater East, Whitesands and Newport Sands – Pembrokeshire the foreshore (the area between mean low and mean high tide) can be ridden on, subject to there being lawful access to the foreshore. Some beach car parks may operate vehicular height restrictions.

The following beaches are popular with horse riders, having adequate parking and access. However, during the summer season they are very busy and it is advisable to ride in the early mornings or evenings: Amroth; Manorbier; Freshwater East; Whitesands; and Newport Sands. please contact Pembrokeshire Coast National Park 0845 345 7275, info@pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk. for more information on times and restrictions, tide times can be found here.

Our dedicated Horsey Holiday field is located at Great Redford, just down the lane from Redford Caravan Park and adjacent to the camping field. For exact positioning, please refer to the map provided.

The field is divided into four shared paddocks, with space for two horses per paddock—offering comfort, space, and the ideal setting for your equine companion.

Our Horsey Holiday field includes a hard-standing field shelter with two enclosed bays—perfect for stabling your horse and storing tack and equipment. An adjoining shed offers secure space for your gear.

To make your stay easy and comfortable, we provide:

• Poop pickers
• Brushes and shovels
• Buckets and tack racks
• A wheelbarrow for convenience

You’ll also find galvanised tie rings inside and outside the shelter, ideal for securing your horse and hanging hay nets. (Please bring your own hay nets—hay is available to purchase.)

All facilities and equipment are shared among horse guests, so we kindly ask everyone to be mindful and considerate during their stay.
